Load balancing with multipath routing in MANETs
نویسنده
چکیده
Mobile ad hoc network is a collection of wireless mobile nodes, such devices as PDAs, mobile phones, laptops etc. that are connected over a wireless medium. There is no pre-existing communication infrastructure (no access points, no base stations) and the nodes can freely move and self-organize into a network topology. Hence, balancing the load in a MANET is important because the nodes in MANET have limited communication resources such as bandwidth, buffer space, and battery power. Most current routing protocols for mobile Ad-hoc networks consider the shortest path with minimum hop count as optimal route without any consideration of any particular node’s traffic and thus degrading the performance by causing serious problems in mobile node like congestion, power depletion and queuing delay. Therefore it is very attractive to investigate Routing protocols which use a Routing Metric to Balance Load in Ad-hoc networks. This paper discusses about LBMPR (Load balancing with multipath routing protocol) for efficient data transmission in MANETs.

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) faces various challenges in routing. Many routing protocols has been evaluated for better performance in terms of delays, throughputs, load balancing and congestion control in multipath routing which is widely used in MANET. The mobility of nodes allows nodes to enter and leave the network dynamically. More Attention is given to the multipath transmission capabil...

A Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile computers forming a temporary network without any existing wire line infrastructure. Due to the dynamic nature of the network topology and the resource constraints, routing in MANETs is a challenging task. Multipath routing can increase end-to-end throughput and provide load balancing in wired networks. However, its advantage is...

MANETs are networks capable of communicating in a set of small, low cost, low power sensing devices. A wireless sensor networks is totally based on the limiting factor i.e. energy consumption. A wireless sensor network consists of large number of sensor nodes distributed or scattered in particular network region. MANETs consist of node that is highly mobile, so in particular the range of the no...

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) consist of a collection of wireless mobile nodes which dynamically exchange data among themselves without the reliance on a fixed base station or a wired backbone network. MANET nodes are typically distinguished by their limited power, processing, and memory resources as well as high degree of mobility. In such networks, the wireless mobile nodes may dynamically ...
